Grenada Hope-Pals Foundation
Mission Statement: To facilitate an acceptable
and attainable standard of living in a positive
environment through Hope, Help & Empowerment.
The Network works closely with CRN+ (Caribbean Regional Network for Persons Living with HIV/AIDS) and benefits closely from regional provisions in projects such as SIRHASC which has provided funding for establishment and operations of an office.
ACTIVITIES:
Throughout the months of January to April 2004 a number of activities and programmes have been developed and some of them implemented to address the internal structure of the network advocacy strategies, community outreach, client services, counselling, information exchange, prevention methods, epidemic profile, capacity building &empowerment, client referral and peer support among others.
OBJECTIVES:
-To offer support to members and assist in empowering them
-To reach out to the families and caregivers of the infected community
-To educate the general public on HIV/AIDS-
-To build the capacity of the network and the individual membership
-To advocate and lobby on behalf of persons living with HIV/AIDS
-for standardised health support and treatment and basic human rights and equality
FEATURED WORKPLAN ACTIVITIES 2004:
-Drop In Centre for Members and their families to provide hot meals and comfort
-2 one day seminars for Men on Sexuality & HIV and Relationships & HIV
-First Aid Workshop for Caregivers
-Advocacy Workshop for members
-Seminar for women on women's issues, the family and dealing with the loss of a loved one
Primary & Secondary Art competition.
Topic: “How do I feel if I or any family members are infected with HIV”.
Ages: 5-18

Carnival Road Show costumes depicting all aspects of HIV/AIDS/STIs
Media Sensitisation Training Workshop
Employers Sensitisation Training Workshop through the Employers Federation
Children against AIDS Concert.
Sexuality & HIV programme targeting Homosexual and Lesbians Community
STRENGTHS:
-Hope-Pals is the Only Network of PLWHA in Grenada
-Has formed a key number of Partnerships
-Has the support of key stakeholders
-Is well known throughout the country
-Has been able to achieve even with constraints
-Has been attracting Donors in spite of limited experience and capacity
-Have been assisting with the Education Process& is playing a role in Nation Building.
